Problem

Design an affordable display system for L'Oréal that fit their global branding.

Solution

By reducing the amount of labor, energy, and raw materials required, we value-engineered a product that cost only one-sixth of the company's initial budget estimate.

Off-grid residence, Maine

Off-Grid Residence, Maine

Problem

Build a solar-powered residence on an island off the coast of Maine with no electricity on site.

Solution

We designed a house with a roof that acted as a giant wing to draw in a natural airflow, creating a passive ventilation system requiring no power. 80% of construction was solar powered; the house was designed to be 100% solar powered.

Louisville Stoneware Factory

Problem

Reduce operating costs at Louisville Stoneware's historic ceramics factory.

Solution

We renovated the factory to be more environmentally efficient — engineering the kilns to burn cheaper bio-gas from a nearby landfill, and creating a solar roof that both heats and cools the building, cutting operational costs in half.
